Introducing Hookah, Shisha, Aluminum Foil, and Heat Management Devices!

Hookah – A traditional Middle Eastern smoking pipe that draws smoke through water in a bowl. A variety of names are used to refer to this type of device including narghile, argileh, shisha, hubble-bubble, and goza.

Shisha - Tobacco mixed with molasses, honey, and vegetable glycerol that is flavored with specific fruit flavors like apple, grape, guava, lemon, mint, etc. This type of tobacco is available in many varieties.
Aluminum foil - A lightweight and airtight wrap that is placed over the hookah bowl containing the shisha tobacco to warm it. These foils are easy to use and come in a range of sizes and shapes that fit most hookah bowls.

Heat management devices – These are not needed for most hookahs, but they do serve a useful function by controlling the amount of heat that the coals emit to maintain the proper temperature. These devices can be made of aluminum, metal, or plastic.

Clean the hookah - Wash the hookah base and down-stem with a soft brush and a bit of water before using it for the first time, as well as whenever it gets dirty. Remove the hoses and clean them as well.

Set up the hookah – The basic setup for a hookah is the vase (glass container), the tray, and the stem. Fill the vase with ice water and attach the tray and hose. The tray can hold the jar or bowl filled with the tobacco and charcoal.
